Hello everyone,
I just got home from a Christmas party at my friend Jan Potter.
Our Women's Community Center got together and we all brought food, there were about 14 of us, between old and new members, mostly women only two husbands.
I drove with Jennifer and her husband, a lovely couple, both attorneys and under 40.
we are both part of the board of directors and we presented the old members with diplomas of gratitude and a potted plant.
Jan's home is located on a hill, with great views of the city lights, it remained me of my old home. She decorated the garden and the home so pretty, with lights everywhere and inside she had a table decorated with miniature homes, a little town over a white snow like setting all aglow. Beautiful.
We all brought food, and she made a delicious soup, she is famous at Christmas with her soup, she feeds the fire department and they love it.
After we ate, we played "The White Elephant Game" each of us brings a wrapped present, and each chooses a number, number one open a present and then number two opens her, if she likes it she keeps it, if not she takes number one, it is all good fun and by the time number fourteen chooses, the gifts have change hands several times.
I was number three and got a barometer, very pretty, my friend Angie took it, I got a mystery book, then eventually I ended up with a tree decoration. Angie lost the barometer to Sue who is sending it to her niece in Norway!!!
We had a lot of fun and I spent time with Jennifer sharing Russian words, as they are going to Moscow to adopt a two year old boy in several weeks from now.
I just got home, it is cold outside, 40 degrees and I am in bed.
I have a great virtual x mass card I will send you all, but I will mail it next Sunday.
Until next time , a hug from this side of the planet.
Sonia Paz
